With openSUSE 11.1 Beta 4 just around the corner, lets have a quick look at the roadmap for openSUSE 11.1.
With the big issues with the Intel e1000 NIC issues causing havok all around (not caused by openSUSE as such) in openSUSE 11.1 Beta and now being resolved, the current release of openSUSE 11.1 is Beta 3 where the main change since Beta 2 are
Live CDs for x86 and GNOME and KDE
OpenOffice.org 3.0
Mono 2.0 Final
Linux 2.6.27.1 with a major fix for Intel e1000e NIC card issue
CUPS 1.3.9
Amarok 2.0 beta 2
Banshee 1.3.2
GNOME 2.24
A main limitation in this beta is that KVM is broken and hence anyone who uses KVM extensively should stay away for a while!
Download openSUSE 11.1 Beta 3 from here. Remember DVD download is only available via BitTorrent. However, the Live CDs for both GNOME and KDE seems to be download lot quicker!
