Internet Explorer 6 (IE6)
Internet Explorer 5.5 (IE5.5)
Internet Explorer 5 (IE5)
The latest version at the time of writing this article is ies4linux 2.99.0.1. ies4linux requires WINE to be preinstalled for a successful installation.

Sometimes, you might end up with the following error..but don’t panic:
IEs4Linux 2 is developed to be used with recent Wine versions (0.9.x). It seems that you are using an old version. It’s recommended that you update your wine to the latest version (Go to: winehq.com). No user interface available. Use command-line ies4linux or install pygtk. This is a known problem caused by GTK. Simply run the installer without the GUI as follows:
saihari@OpenSuse:~/ies4linux-2.99.0.1> ./ies4linux –-no-gui
That installs ies4linux on your linux under your home directory. Time to start your Internet Explorer.
Run Internet Explorer
saihari@OpenSuse:~/> ie6 &
This starts Internet Explorer 6. While Internet Explorer 7 is not fully installed, partial support is available.
The default installation installs and creates the following: –
– install IE6
– install Adobe Flash 9
– create icons on Desktop and Menu
However, if you would like to customize then use the help for more information
saihari@OpenSuse:~/ies4linux-2.99.0.1> ./ies4linux -h
Thanks, mate! This “no-gui” thing helped me out completely!!! 🙂 Thanks again!
