Warzone 2100 Resurrection was an innovative 3D real-time strategy game back in 1999. The game’s source code was released later in 2004, under a GPL license. Soon after that, the Warzone 2100 ReDev project was formed with the goal to make warzone run on all possible platforms. The original code of all proprietary technologies were stripped and replaced with cross-platform and free equivalents, like OpenGL, OpenAL, etc. Right now, Warzone 2100 works very well on Windows and GNU/Linux and BSD.
In Warzone 2100 you command the forces of “The Project” in a battle to rebuild the world after mankind has almost been destroyed by nuclear missiles. The game offers campaign, tutorial, multi-player and single-player skirmish modes. An extensive tech tree with over 400 different technologies, combined with the unit design system, allows for a wide variety of possible units and tactics. Warzone 2100 was created by Pumpkin Studios, published by Eidos Interactive and is currently developed by the Warzone 2100 Resurrection Project.
Install Warzone 2100 Resurrection

1-click installer from packman which supports openSUSE 11.1/11.0/10.3/10.2. This should download the YMP file and automatically launch the YaST package manager to add the required Repositories and download and install Warzon2100 and the required dependencies. Click next on the Warzone2100 installation screen and Next again on the installation proposal window. This should start adding the required repositories, download and install Warzoone2100 and its required dependencies. Click Finish when the installation completes successfully.

This should install Warzone 2100 under “Applications – Games” as “Strategy Game“. Click Strategy Game to start the game and choose between Single or Multiple players. Also, it presents a nice tutorial for players who haven’t played this game.

Very cool game. Played the whole weekend. Just to bad it’s bugged as hell. It crashes randomly. So save a lot!
When running the 1 click install on Opensuse x86 64 bit install fails with message
warzone xxxxxxxxxxxx x86_64 RPM not found on medium
insert your opensuse disc and run it again. its usually the case when you get medium or medium 1 errors. it looks for the cd some reason
